BSE Major
If you are curious about the process of turning raw materials into products like plastics, paints, fuels, fibers, medicines, fertilizers, and semiconductors, the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemical Engineering degree program at Geneva College is for you! Those called to the field of chemical engineering learn to use their talents to steward the specialized knowledge of chemical processes across multiple industries. Over 85% of Geneva’s chemical engineering majors participate in hands-on internships to gain real-world experience. Through an ABET-accredited education founded in a blend of chemistry, engineering, mathematics, and physics courses, you emerge as a skilled, multifaceted graduate.
At Geneva College, our vast engineering programs stand as one of 15 CCCU schools conferred the prestige of ABET accreditation
Through a combination of comprehensive engineering courses, project-based learning, and networking, our alumni secure engineering jobs at companies including Aerotech to Leidos
Assisting over 80 companies since its inception, Geneva’s Pinkerton Center for Technology Development (PCTD) connects students and faculty to industrial and governmental clients. This unique development center allows students to research, develop, and design projects for their community.
Handle air-sensitive materials, experiment with electromagnetics, calculate heat within reactions, and more in this hands-on class.
Familiarize yourself with the units and methods used in designing chemical processes.
Learn what to look for when choosing and designing reactors based on the reactions being conducted.
Gain familiarity with the equipment and techniques needed to carry out a variety of chemical processes.
Accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, Geneva's engineering and computer science program provides a breadth of knowledge through common core courses in programming, software engineering, computer architecture, operating systems and networks, as well as a depth of knowledge in an application area through completion of a minor or second major chosen to complement talents, interests and vocational goals.
Preamble: We encourage our students and graduates to make choices and commitments "for faithful and fruitful service to God and neighbor." For all engineering graduates, we have the following objectives:
Embrace a Christian worldview - understanding the science and technology relevant to their fields and practicing biblical ethics as they perform their work and interact effectively with diverse teams of people.
Be active members of Christian churches and engaged in church leadership roles, Christian service, and/or community service appropriate to their gifts and opportunities.
Upon successful completion of the engineering program, graduates will have achieved the following outcomes:
Through networking and critical hands-on learning, over 85% of juniors studying chemical engineering find a valuable internship within their field before they graduate from Geneva. Equipped with your bachelor of chemical engineering degree, you can make waves of change in industries that represent biotechnology, construction, energy and fuels, healthcare, manufacturing, or pharmaceuticals. Whichever path you choose, each component of your education prepares you for success.
